Ek dam ‘Dabangg’ picture!

This is the kind of movie that doctors would advise after a week of hectic work! An action packed and humorous entertainment without too many sentimental mush. A movie where you can give your brains a rest and laugh along to.

Dabangg is running on a high due to its smashing success, having surpassed the Bollywood top grosser 3 Idiots at the box office collection records, on its opening day itself. Many might say the movie is nonsensical. But that’s the beauty of it! A very simple movie made for the purpose of pure entertainment of the masses. It doesn’t carry any hidden message or moral, but rocks on entertainment value.

These days, who wants a movie where we need to concentrate and figure out the logic and then feel all mushy and sad at some tragic turn of events? What we really want is a Relax-Pill 😉

The character of Chulbul Pandey aka Robinhod Pandey suits Salman Khan like no other role ever has! Set in Uttar Pradesh, Chulbul Pandey (Salman Khan) is a fearless and corrupt officer whose methods of law enforcement is a bit unorthodox. Having had a bitter childhood, his character is antagonistic to his stepfather, Prajapati Pandey (Vinod Khanna) whom his mother (Dimple Kapadia) married after his father passed away. Makhanchan Pandey (Arbaaz Khan) is Chulbul’ half brother who is forever favored by his step-dad. His only real relationship is with his mother.

During one of his chases, Chulbul falls in love with Rajo (Sonakshi Sinha) and persistently woos her. Her unique view of life changes Chulbul’ mindset making him yearn for the bonds of a family.

Chulbul’ mother’ demise and vendetta against his step-dad and half brother culminates in giving Cheddi Singh (Sonu Sood) – a local politician – an opportunity to take revenge on Chulbul for the losses he incurred due to the latter. Cheddi uses Makhanchan and pits him against his brother. Makhan approaches Chulbul to make things alright. But now, will Chulbul forgive his half brother Makhan? Will bygones be bygones or will they persist in the rift between the family? Will Cheddi succeed in his plans? How will Chulbul’ step-dad Prajapati react?

For answers, you have got to watch Dabangg. Truly entertaining!

The music of Dabangg >> Usually the music in an action flick ends up being mediocre or a total waste. But here, Sajid-Wajid and Lalit Pandit have come up with catchy tunes that are actually capturing music lovers all over the world. Lalit Pandit’ ‘Munni Badnam Hui’ was an instant hit!

Signing off for now humming in my head ‘ Munni badnaam hui..daarrling tere liye! Munni ke gaal gulaabi, nain sharaabi, chaal nawaabi re 😉 Le zandu balm hui, daarrrling tere liye!’  Told you..Catchy!
