OMG!!! Did you watch the Bollywood film ‘I Hate LuvStorys’???!!! This is one of the worst movies of the century! A bad script, horrible acting and literally no storyline!
It is hard to believe that Sonam Kapoor is Anil Kapoor’s daughter!!! Anil Kapoor, the versatile actor who has won innumerous awards is an iconic figure in India. Beginning his career in the Bollywood industry in 1979, he was able to carve a niche for himself in the span of just a couple of years with Mashaal and Mr. India. However, Sonam Kapoor his daughter really MUST stay away from movies. Her first film Saawariya was a super duper flop followed by Delhi 6 which scraped through solely because of Abhishek Bachchan’ presence. However, ‘I Hate Luv Storys’ has surpassed every other role she has played in. She has no emotions. She does not know what to do with her expressions and when to use them if at all she remembers she had them in the first place!
Calling her an actor would be atrocious. Opposite her, Imran Khan has portrayed a dwindling performance of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Naa. With the same expressions and same saucy attitude, he has managed to decently carry off his role.
The minute you think “Ok. I can sit through this.” The camera zeroes in on Sonam Kapoor and her pitiful acting. There is a scene in this movie where this so-called actress is supposed to be angry with the hero. Here, Sonam Kapoor voices her lines of anger with no emotion and from her face it is really hard to deduce whether she is angry, happy, worried or just anxious about her date with the director, Punit Malhotra! Dating the director sure seemed to have given her a leg-up!
Plain eye candy, Sonam Kapoor should only be allowed guest appearances and that too in case no other person is available. Beside the chocolate hero Imran Khan, Sonam comes off as an older lady with a thin-lipped smile. Her profile advertises she is a trained dancer. However, this is not put to use in any of her movies yet. The least one could do is give her some credit with a role where she can do what she does best so as to cover up the rest of her flaws.
A romantic comedy is something that this movie is not. Filled with cheesy lines and cracking up romantic gestures, this movie laughs in the face of true romance with two utterly incompatible actors Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor.
Not worth your money, it is a much better bet to watch something on your TV or even play an oft-repeated game of Trivial Pursuit than watch I Hate Luv Storys in the theater.
