Twilight Saga – Breaking Dawn: Recap

Woohoo! Breaking Dawn Part 2 is releasing Nov 16th 2012! I just can’t wait – It’s been a year since Part 1 released!!!

OK. RECAP:

Bella marries Edward undaunted by all the scary stuff that he may have done in the past.

Jacob is really angry with Bella for wanting to consummate her marriage with Edward during their honeymoon.

Bella gets pregnant on her honeymoon.

The baby grows at an alarmingly accelerated pace.

Bella refuses abortion and gets Rosalie to protect her wishes.

Bella wants Jacob by her side.

Jacob leaves Sam’s pack to protect Bella and in turn becomes the alpha for a new pack with Seth and Leah.

Pregnancy progress is directly proportional to deterioration of Bella’ health.

Bella drinks blood which in turn helps her regain some strength.

Soon after, Bella goes into painful labour and gives birth to a baby girl (Renesmee).

As Bella’ life ebbs away, Edward injects his venom into Bella’s heart to no avail.

Jacob goes to kill the baby but realizes he has imprinted on her! – Due to which The Quileutes pack cannot let any harm come to Renesmee.

Carlisle notices a pulse for Bella and she awakens as a newborn vampire.

& NOW:

The finale that we have all been waiting for.. Just when Twilight was almost out of our minds, BREAKING DAWN Part 2 is releasing in theaters on Nov 16th.

The Cullen clan rally for support from other vampire clans across the world to protect Renesmee from the Volturi due to the incorrect identification of Renesmee as an immortal child by Irina of the Denali clan. The wolf pack stand alongside the Cullens and other vampire clans to try to prove their innocence and escape being destroyed by the Volturi.

Breaking Dawn Part 2

I think it is going to be a pretty awesome entertaining end. Especially with the upcoming fight and the eclectic mixture of vampires with their different gifts (I love Kate and Garrett). The showdown between the Cullens and gang and the Volturi seems to be a bit different from how it is described in the book. But then, this is a movie…without extra effects, where’s the fun? 😉

The trailer is excellent!

Stuffed Mushrooms

V has been behind me to start eating healthy and exercise. But me being the lazy me, has been putting off his healthy regimen for quite a while.

While looking for good foods for our baby, I came across this recipe on Weelicious for stuffed mushrooms. Frankly, watching the Catherine McCord programme I knew I just had to have taste of those delectable mushrooms!

Stuffed Mushrooms

Stuffed Mushrooms

This is a wonderful and easy recipe. Both vegans as well as the non vegans will love it! I did add a few of my own ingredients in it because I find American food much too bland and I love spice!

Okay. So the ingredients I used were:

20-25 cremini mushrooms (Ms. McCord says these are baby portabella mushrooms.)

1 garlic clove (cut into small pieces)

1 thick bunch of fresh spinach

1 and 3/4th cups shredded parmesan cheese

3 tbsp olive oil

1 cup plain bread crumbs (If you want, you can grind rusk (it is a hard dry biscuit or twice-baked bread) to get this, instead of buying processed bread crumbs)

1 dessert spoon chilly sauce

1.5 tsp pepper

1 tsp lemon juice

2 tsp Italian herb seasoning (thyme, oregano, basil, marjoram, rosemary, sage)

Salt as required

Extra olive oil for brushing onto the mushrooms.

The recipe says it takes 30 min but it took me longer because of the teeny bit difference in the ingredients.. You see, when you buy fresh spinach from the farmers market, you would need to wash and clean the leaves, de-root them, squeezed the water out of them (as completely as possible) and then chop them into real tiny pieces. Otherwise you can buy a box of chopped frozen spinach from the supermarket, defrost it and then drain its water well (as the original Weelicious recipe says.)

Also, I felt the mushrooms a bit tough to clean. I washed them, wiped them with a kitchen napkin to get the dirt off and then popped out the stems, cleaned the inside and brushed them with olive oil.

Mix all the ingredients into a bowl. Fill the de-stemmed mushrooms with this stuffing and place them on the baking pan. I found a spoon cumbersome and hence, I just filled them using my hands.

As I had already brushed all sides of the mushrooms with oil, there was no need to spray the baking pan with oil. You can also place these mushrooms on a silver foil in the baking pan – it will be easier to clean the pan after baking.

Bake for 20 minutes in an oven that has been pre-heated to 400 degrees. In 20 minutes, you can hear the sizzle, see the golden brown mushrooms and taste this absolutely yummy delicacy!

With the extra stuffing that I had, I fried it a bit on the stove top and used it as a bread spread. I also had some of it as it was. In fact, my baby liked the stuffing and ate 4-5 baby mouthfuls too:)

In weelicious, Catherine McCord categorizes this recipe as an appetizer. But I found that these tasty bites pretty much fills you up 🙂

This is essentially a Weelicious recipe and I just wanted to share it with my readers. Thank you Catherine McCord for this lovely recipe that made V so happy! 🙂

Samsung Galaxy S3/Note 2 Vs iPhone 5

I have the Nokia 6120 Classic which, at present, might pretty much be termed ancient. But hey! I love Nokia phones. It is SO sturdy and durable!!! But finally, I’ve started to feel the necessity to upgrade and get a new phone..preferably a smartphone.

If the Nokia smartphone had the looks and the kind of features I have in mind, without a doubt, I would have gone for it. But well, that’s not the case now, is it?

Let me be honest. I am not a technician nor am I an IT employee. I have no background of software engineering either. So now that we are clear on that matter, I would like to say that though I am familiar with the iOS, I lean towards the Android OS (Hear Samsung Galaxy or Note 2). Wondering why?

From my point of view, here’s why:

1. It is beautifully sleek and lightweight. Note 2 might be a bit larger ..  O! who am I kidding!!! Note 2 IS  much larger but it is SO very attractive!

2. You are not restricted by Apple. For heavens sake!! They took off YouTube and Google Maps!!!

which brings me to

3. Android is associated to Google. Google is hands down the BEST of the best!

4. Lack of Flash support which would mean I cannot play my Sim games, other Flash games or Flash videos for that matter!!!

So to sum it up, I could confidently say that my next phone is going to be the Samsung Galaxy NOTE 2! 🙂 Yay!

By the way, I intend on buying an international unlocked version. Do any of you know if the 32 GB model is available?

..

I’ve got my SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 2!!:D

And….

I LOVE IT!

Too hyped love?

What is this much hyped about, media favorite, obsessive and maddening LOVE?

I think love is laughter, intimacy and the small things that ‘X’ does for ‘Y’ without being asked, but because ‘X’ senses or understands what ‘Y’ needs.

Love is when one gives the other the courage to be who they aspire to be.. To believe in them even when they don’t believe in themselves.. Sometimes it might even be a dream that would never come true.. But the fact that he or she did not laugh at you or put you down means a whole lot! Bob Marley was so right when he said, “…never do they hurt your feelings or make you feel like you are not good enough, but rather they build you up and show you the things about yourself that make you special and even beautiful.. You can be yourself and not worry about what they will think of you because they love you for who you are. The things that seem insignificant to most people such as a note, song or walk become invaluable treasures kept safe in your heart to cherish forever.. Laughter seems part of daily life… In their presence, there’s no need for continuous conversation, but you find you’re quite content in just having them nearby… Life seems worthwhile…

Love is when even if you hate something, you just can’t bring yourself to admit it when you look into the eyes of the one you love and you know how much your words mean to her.

When you love someone, you can hear what she’ telling you. Actually hear her and want to hear more!

Love makes people do crazy things. It’s true. But, in the eyes of the ones who love each other, it is just romance.. bringing them closer to each other within their own cocoon. Loves brings surprises so that the excitement remains forever. Those who do not have this magic in their lives might be envious and try to run it down by not giving it any value. The one who succumbs to this and suddenly feels like he is a dog (in the good sense.. as in loyal, loving, faithful, and always around you) is losing out on one of the best things in life. The only thing that can endure.

Love is not love if it fades away at the slightest hint of trouble. Whoever said that love does not make you cry was very wrong. Love can make even the strongest cry. As Neil Gaiman said in The Sandman, “…love makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart…”

True love can create miracles. Like Noah says in The Notebook, “… the best love is the kind that weakens the soul, and makes us reach for more, puts pints of fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds ..”

Does this kind of love truly exist? When I read those true life stories I sometimes find it so hard to believe that it really is a Happily Ever After.. because in movies, after the ‘happy ending’ where the boy and girl are together, no one shows what comes after THE END!

Roles reversed

As a mother, I can now confidently say that I rarely understood my parents when I was a child.. All that haze surrounding my mind has been lifted and I am able to pretty much make out why my mom must have said “NO” at particular times and how frustrated she must have been with our rebellions and outbursts!!

I can’t say I was a ‘rebellious’ teenager but neither was I this fashionable diva kind of girl. I had my moments.

I remember arguing with my mother about a Himalayan trek I wanted to go for in my seventh grade. But she gave me an outright “No”! At that time, I argued with my mom, fussed about the ‘unfairness’, reasoned that ‘everybody was going’ and even blamed my mom for ‘not letting me do anything I wanted’!!! Mom told me that ‘Money must be used wisely and that at the moment there wasn’t enough for this luxury.’ I remember whining ‘it’s just a small amount..why can’t I go??’ My mom didn’t even bat an eyelid!

Now as a mother myself, I realize that my mom was only trying to teach me the value of money and about sticking to your guts. I’m sure my mom might have been hurt by the unjust accusations I made against her. But she never let me know it.

There was this other time..actually this happened almost every time 😉 I used to ask permission from mom to visit my friends promising that I’d be back by 3pm. But every single time, by noon my friends and I would be formulating a plan to call my mom and delay the curfew. Fact is, both my best friends were pretty much neighbours and my home was about 6 miles away from theirs. Now I know, mom was just worried about me travelling alone at night such a distance in a land where kidnappings and molestation happened on a regular basis..where there were so many men with an itch in their you know where!! But being young and a teenager I always said, “Amma, this is the last time…Promisseeee” 😉 But guess what? It was never the last time 😉 Even when all three of us went off to college!!

The present generation is so used to getting their way with things that it is really sad how materialistic the world is getting to be. But it is not right to just blame the ‘present generation’. It is more the young parents fault. Either it’s that they don’t have the time to do a good job of parenting or they think they can be best friends with their children. What parents these days forget is that they are after all the parents. Hence, they MUST learn to navigate that thin line between being friends with your children and at the same time, being parents too.
